Carsten Lindholm Trio at Theatre de Caen

New repertoire by Carsten Lindholm Trio was performed in front of an enthusiastic audience Saturday 20th November 2021, at the Theatere de Caen.

Almost 1.000 people had gathered to experience Jan Gunnar Hoff (piano), Reggie Washington (bass) & Carsten Lindholm (drums) first hand. Among them, many had been to the trio’s concert in 2018, at the exact same spot. As one guest said: ”Carsten Lindholm Trio has come home”!

The concert was part of the festival Les Boreales where the trio represented Denmark and Nordic Jazz.

Jazz a Caen, Stéphane BARTHOD shot some beautiful pictures.

Afrindian

Newest live studio video “Afrindian” from the Indispiration album now on YouTube.
About “Afrindian” Carsten tells us, that it is written and played in African inspired 6/8. The African 6/8 is combined with the Indian scales on Harmonium and focus is to give the Piano trio a dynamic expression.
If you already now the album and have listened to it you will notice, that on the album version there is no Harmonium but instead a flowing trumpet from German Thomas Siffling.
