Carsten Lindholm Trio is an international Jazz trio playing Nordic Jazz with Indian rhythmics, formed by drummer Carsten Lindholm in 2017.
Members of the band varies according to where the focus is, but in common is a collection of dedicated, dynamic, professional musicians, with a strong expression – and a mutual interest in jazz music. This carried by especially Carsten’s inspirers as Esbjorn Svensson, Brad Mehldau, Jan Garbarek, Lars Danielsson, Wolfgang Haffner and Erik Truffaz.
The trio is known for their unique ability to fuse Nordic Jazz with Indian rhythmics, based on Carsten Lindholms study of Konnakol. All played with a soulful bass, dynamic drums, a heartfelt strong expressive piano – and of course, with focus on the audience.
Carsten Lindholm Trio performed at venues as: Bix Jazzclub in Stuttgart (DE), Theatre de Caen (FR), Jazzhus Montmartre, Copenhagen (DK), ElbJazz, Hamburg (DE) – in connection with the release of album Indispiration in 2018.
At present the trio consists of Mathias Grove / Martin Schack (DK) on piano, Kasper Tagel (DK) on double bass and Carsten Lindholm (DK) himself on drums.

Mathias Grove (DK): Mathias Grove Madsen is a pianist with a diploma from Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium in Copenhagen and since 1994 has worked professionally as a pianist, bandmaster, composer, arranger and conductor in various orchestral, choral and theater contexts. Mathias also performed live with Carsten Lindholm Trio at Festival Boréales/Caen in 2018 and plays the piano in track Longing at the album Indispiration .
Martin Schack (DK): Pianist Martin Schack currently lives in Ribe. Martin currently works as a professional freelance musician and has an extensive career and tours in Denmark and abroad with his own bands and as a sideman. He is also the owner of the venue “Termansens”, as well as the creator of the Ribe jazz festival, Jazzcamp Ribe and is currently a lecturer at the Southern Danish Academy of Music.
Kasper Tagel (DK): Double bassist. Plays with the Odense Jazzorchestra, Søren Bebe Trio, Nikolaj Bentzon Trio, Niels Lan Doky, and teaches at the Southern Danish Music Conservatory.
Carsten Lindholm (DK): Drummer, composer and band leader. Also collaborated with Erik Truffaz, John Beasley, Pete Judge/Jim Barr and many others. Plays as sideman in trio Hoff Somsen Lindholm and Forkelid Nordic (new).
Carsten Lindholm Trio invites the audience into a world where they can forget time and place for a while!

In years 2019-2022 Pianist Jan Gunnar Hoff (NO) and Bass player Reggie Washington (BE/US) formed Carsten Lindholm Trio and toured together in Germany and France.
Indispiration was released from the German label JazznArts in 2018.
Jasper Somsen was introduced on double bass for the Trio at Jazzforum Bayreuth 25th September 2022.
In 2023 Jasper Somsen, Jan Gunnar Hoff and Carsten Lindholm started Hoff Somsen Lindholm, who released their first album Northwest in 2024 from the Dutch label Challenge Records International.

Pianist Jan Gunnar Hoff (NO): Also work(ed) with Mike Stern, Anders Jormin and Audun Kleive and many more. Jan Gunnar Hoff first performed live with Carsten Lindholm at Bix Stuttgart 2018, in relation to the release of the album Indispiration. Since then, he has been a regular part of the Carsten Lindholm Trio. Jan Gunnar Hoff was part of the Carsten Lindholm Trio tour in Germany 2022.

Kristor Lybecker Brødsgaard (DK): Kristor Lybecker Brødsgaard is a Danish double bassist known from collaborations with jazz guitarist Tao Højgaard and within JazzKamikaze. Kristor performed live with Carsten Lindholm Trio at Festival Boréales/Caen 2018, Elbjazz & Jazzhus Montmartre 2019. You will recognize Kristors bass in tracks as Cha (Ballads) and Daylight Savings (single).
Mark Lorenzen (DK), harmonium/piano. Mark has contributed to many of the tracks on album Indispiration. A perfect match because of Marks knowledge and study of Indian music.
